Guys tend to get a bad reputation when it comes to wandering eyes, cheating, and looking to other women to satisfy their needs and desires.
It can be the cause of many problems in relationships, but contrary to popular belief, the fact is that guys aren’t just ‘naturally programmed’ that way. You could actually be contributing to his glances, or it could be something entirely out of your hands.
Check out these seven reasons why your boyfriend looks at other girls, and see if you can relate them to your own relationship.
# 1. Unfamiliar Faces
While a man doesn’t necessarily view you as an object, scientific studies have shown that they are more attracted to ‘new’ things, including people. While women tend to favor familiarity, men look at unfamiliar faces as something more pleasing to their overall vision.
# 2. Testosterone
Here’s the excuse most men use when it comes to how often they look at other women, and more often than not, it’s true. Men have far more testosterone than women, and this chemical naturally drives their libido higher, causing them to essentially ‘look before they think.’
# 3. They Are Trained
The truth is, many men start looking at as many girls as they possibly can from a young age. As teenagers, guys can never get enough of the opposite sex, and they mentally train themselves without realizing it that it is acceptable, and normal behavior.
# 4. Society Doesn’t Help
Society oversexualizes women on a daily basis. From advertisements, to beauty expectations, and everything in between – it’s almost impossible for guys to avoid looking at other women, because they’re trying to make their own personal decisions as to whether each woman matches up to those societal expectations and norms.

It can be a hard pill to swallow, thinking your boyfriend is somehow ‘bored’ with your relationship, but remember that testosterone? It’s got their sex drive working constantly, and if your relationship is suffering at all when it comes to being physical and intimate, they may start looking elsewhere. This doesn’t mean they have to act on it, or cheat, but it’s not abnormal for their minds to wander.
# 6. They’re Not Aware
Because looking at other women can be so deeply-rooted in a lot of men, many times they’re not even aware they’re doing it! If it bothers you, don’t be afraid to call them out on what they’re doing, and ask them to give you an explanation as to why they feel the need to do it. If you get to the bottom of it, if there’s a negative reason, you can help put a stop to it.
# 7. He Is Thinking About You
Don’t let this be an excuse, or fool you in any way, but many men in relationships will look at other women and think of you, because they see a feature on that women they think would look good on you. From an outfit, to an accentuated body part, etc. This may seem crazy to think about, but if you’re in a committed relationship, don’t automatically assume that he’s looking at another girl because he wants her more.
Some women are okay with their boyfriend stealing a glance at other girls here and there, while others are not. The best thing you can do is to set those boundaries together, and really decide what works best for both of you. If he continues to look at other girls after knowing how much it bothers you, then it might be time to have a more serious talk.
